Tailored Itinerary – Bespoke Holidays

What is a tailored itinerary and what makes a tailored itinerary stand out from the crowd? As a Seawings Lifestyle Ambassador I create  tailored itineraries for guests on a daily basis. I make it my priority that every detail is taken into consideration to ensure that the client gets what is expected in terms of a unique experience, tailor-made to his or her requirements and offering good value for money.

4 criteria for preparing a tailored itinerary

The 4 critical criteria I keep in mind when preparing a tailored itinerary are the following:

  1. Build a personal rapport with the client – talking directly to my guest allows me to not only understand all the requirements of the specific request but also to know the guest’s personal preferences and interests. By building such a relationship my ultimate goal is to learn more from the guest which in turn allows me to provide a completely bespoke itinerary.
  2. Ask specific questions – understanding what the ideal holiday is in my client’s perspective is a key element.  Within the UAE for example guests come to explore the culture and heritage or the architecture of our iconic and world renowned buildings or to relax at some of the most luxurious resorts in the world. Perhaps even all of the above!
  3. Product and destination knowledge – knowing the destination/s I am selling and options available is not only very important to me as a travel consultant but even more so to my guest. Making suggestions, sharing new information of exciting projects and trending news allows me to always have my fingers on the pulse and give true and accurate information.
  4. Going the extra mile – enquiring about details such as special occasions, member of the party and even if they have visited the destination before are important in order for me to really start to understand the request. I ask many questions as I believe that in the eyes of a travel consultant, you can never have enough information and by doing so I am showing my interest in the guest, confirming the belief that I have their best interests in mind.

Originally working in the hospitality industry in South Africa, I only got to meet the guests upon arrival in the resort.  Working within the Seawings Lifestyle team now allows me to be part of the ever vital process of making those special arrangements and share their delight and excitement of that dream holiday.

I always try to keep in mind that guests don’t only buy the packages I am selling, but they also buy into me!
